Stewardship & Pledging

GENERAL THOUGHTS

“Stewardship” is a word we rarely hear today. It reminds Christians that we are called to administer wisely what God has entrusted to us. In November, we make a special time to think about the coming year, which starts with Advent Sunday, and think carefully about four key aspects of our lives:

4 stones talent time treasure truth

Think about each of them. Examine them one by one and see what is truly important for you. How does it direct your daily life? How should you use each one to serve God and extend His Kingdom?

“Pledge” is not a fashionable word either. It implies commitment. However, Jesus committed His life to save us from death and heal us. How can we not commit our lives and resources to Him in gratitude?

PLEDGE SEASON 2026

PREPARATION

To help our preparation for pledging, we have been doing homework each week in the form of meditations on Bible passages which show Jesus caring for an individual person. Read them slowly and carefully and see what God would say to you.

How has Jesus healed me in some way or given me new life recently?

What new thing has Jesus enabled me to see / understand during the year?

November 9th: Luke 7:36-50

Has Jesus accepted me even in my worst moments?

November 16th: Matthew 15:21-28

Even though I felt an outsider, how has Jesus made me welcome?
